Schools

The Vernon School District has 14 elementary schools and 5 secondary schools, enrolling Kindergarten to grade 7 students in elementary schools and grade 8 to 12 students in secondary schools. 

Most International Program Students attend secondary schools in Vernon. All schools offer similar academic and elective British Columbia curricular programs which lead to post secondary education opportunities. All schools also offer a full complement of electives, including Athletic, Applied Skills, and Fine Arts programs.

Vernon Secondary School is one of Vernon’s most comprehensive schools offering courses and opportunities across all disciplines and areas.
VSS has a proud tradition of achievement in athletics, fine arts, and academics. VSS is the District’s largest school with a beautiful building and state-of-the-art technology in every room.

Population: 1100, grades 8 – 12

W.L. Seaton Secondary School is a dual-track school offering both English language programming and the city’s only secondary French Immersion program. Seaton has a strong Arts and Culture program with award-winning Concert and Jazz bands, as well as Choir, Drama, Musical Theatre, and Visual Arts programs. Its diversity makes it a welcoming environment for international students.

Population: 1075, grades 8 – 12

Clarence Fulton Secondary offers a wide range of academic courses, interesting electives, and beautiful facilities. This school has outstanding athletics programs, great arts and trades electives, and is a welcoming community school. Clarence Fulton hosts our largest and most diverse international student population in Vernon.

Kalamalka Secondary School offers strong academic, athletic, and extra-curricular programs for all grades. KAL prides itself on maintaining high academic standards. Many of its classes take advantage of the school's location next to the beautiful Kalamalka Lake and Provincial Park. Students can enjoy a variety of athletics, clubs, arts, and interesting electives such as outdoor education, women's fitness, photography, psychology, cooking, musical theatre, woodworking, and band.

Charles Bloom Secondary School is situated in the rural community of Lumby, the Gateway to the Monashee Mountains. The school is located in the center of the village near the park, swimming pool, curling rink, skating rink, regional library, and skateboard park. A culture of mutual respect promotes a positive small-town atmosphere for students and staff.
