You can join many teams like soccer, basketball, volleyball, rugby and golf to name a few. Enjoy the focus on the arts in school with courses in band, choir, theatre and visual arts.
Vernon is known as a community focused on recreational activities. You will experience exciting things to do in all 4 seasons. Experience a world class ski resort 30 minutes from your home. Ski, snow board and X-country ski in one of the best facilities in Canada. Play soccer (indoor and outdoor), badminton, join the swim team, play hockey or just hang out at the beach.
When Can I Start?
We accept students on an ongoing basis depending on course requirements and space availability. Students can be accepted with beginner to expert English proficiency.
Where Will I Live?
You will live with a Canadian family. Vernon is a safe, medium-sized community with 98% native English speakers. Students enjoy a rich cultural experience and will see their English excel by living and learning with an English speaking family.
Credit + Passion = Academies
In our School District, Academies students earn credits while pursuing a personal passion or interest during the school day. Academies offer the opportunity to develop a skill or make a positive contribution to their community or to those in need. In Vernon we offer school academies in Soccer, Hockey, Baseball, Golf, Swimming, Earthquest Outdoor School, Snow Sports, Forestry and Students Without Borders.
